First fly-in in a long time

The Moonshiners is a fly-in that I’ve wanted to do for a couple of years. It takes place in Mountain City, Tennessee, at Johnson County Airport 2200 ft MSL, which is the highest elevation in the state.

I got in four flights, unfortunately I accidentally deleted the flight data of 3 of them. The evening flights were all light breezes with level 4 bumps and both mornings had low foggy ceilings.

I cut the trip short due to lack of shade and high temperatures. My campsite was a long way from the porta potties and the numerous food vendors didn’t show up. I’d do it again but not without an air conditioned trailer and a couple of buddies.

It was good to get out of town but it wasn’t a great event for me.
